Yesterday, we launched the new Verra Registry, powered by S&P Global Energy. The new platform will form part of the infrastructure that enables the global carbon market to scale. It also represents the most significant user experience upgrade in Verra’s history.
Since we announced the partnership with S&P Global Energy last year, we have migrated more than 5,900 projects across the full pipeline, in addition to moving 10,500 account holders, 1.4 billion credits, and 125,000 documents onto the new platform. We also integrated the Verra Registry with the Verra Project Hub, letting users track a project’s status in one place from pipeline listing through validation, issuance, transfer, and retirement.
Future updates will include enhanced Article 6 functionality, transaction-ready application programming interface (API) connectivity, and deeper integration with exchanges, brokers, and marketplaces. The new Verra Registry stands ready to provide the transparency, speed, and reliability that the market expects and needs.
Earlier this month, we reported that, following the operationalization of Indonesia’s national carbon market, we are preparing to issue carbon credits to three Indonesian forestry projects that have fulfilled all regulatory requirements and received the necessary approvals under the country’s updated carbon market regulations. This announcement is a welcome development for the global carbon markets. It illustrates how the interoperability between independent crediting programs like Verra’s and domestic registry systems like Indonesia’s can help scale emission reductions while channeling climate finance to communities across Indonesia.
We hope many of you will join us tomorrow at 11:00 am ET for our July stakeholder update webinar, where we will share more details about these two announcements and additional updates.

Project Spotlight
FUNDAECO's REDD+ Project for Caribbean Guatemala: The Conservation Coast
In the Caribbean region of Guatemala, 60 communities are uniting to conserve tropical forests. Their work helps to decrease global carbon emissions and increase local people’s access to healthcare, education, and community services.
Launched in 2012, FUNDAECO’s REDD+ Project for Caribbean Guatemala: The Conservation Coast (Verra Project 1622) protects the biologically diverse forests of the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor through a self-sustaining financial model that generates carbon credits and produces income for participating landowners. Jointly registered with Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program and Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standards (CCBS) Program, the project demonstrates how carbon finance can help sustain long-term forest conservation.
Today, the project protects 55,000 hectares of forest and works with more than 1,000 owners of private, municipal, and national forest plots. By bringing together landowners, local communities, and conservation practitioners around a shared commitment to protecting the region’s forests, the project is helping secure lasting environmental and social benefits across Caribbean Guatemala.
