WASHINGTON – Jul. 27, 2026 | Verra has launched its new registry powered by S&P Global Energy, marking the most significant user experience upgrade in the organization’s history.

Since Verra announced the partnership last year, it has been working to migrate more than 5,900 projects across the full pipeline—from draft through registered projects—in addition to 10,500 account holders, 1.4 billion credits, and 125,000 documents onto the new platform.

The new Verra Registry is integrated with the Verra Project Hub, letting users track a project’s status in one place from pipeline listing through validation, issuance, transfer, and retirement: a workflow that previously required moving between separate platforms.

"With today’s launch, we’re continuing to develop the infrastructure the carbon markets will need at scale, not just the infrastructure it needs today. We built this registry with S&P Global Energy as a foundation that we can keep expanding on. Over the next several phases, we will see things like transaction-ready API connectivity and deeper integration with exchanges, brokers, and marketplaces, so credits can move with the same speed and reliability the rest of this market now expects.”

Mandy Rambharos, CEO, Verra

Today’s launch was announced in a joint release by Verra and S&P Global Energy last month.

As noted in June, Leanne Todd, head of horizons, S&P Global Energy, said, “By bringing this technology online, we are equipping market participants with the advanced workflows and new user interface of the S&P Global Energy Environmental Registry that simplifies the user experience. These workflows allow for a flexible and scalable system to meet the changing needs of the market as it grows.”

In a future update, the new registry will also support enhanced Article 6 functionality and data Application Programming Interface (API) services.

Verra has published FAQs and step-by-step user guidance on a dedicated registry transition page, along with demo videos and recordings of training webinars held ahead of the launch.

Stakeholder support will continue to be available in the coming weeks for account holders with questions about the new platform. There are no changes to core fees or account requirements because of migration, and account holders retain their existing project data and credit history.
