WASHINGTON, NEW YORK – Jun. 17, 2026 | Verra, the world’s leading standards setter for climate action and sustainable development, today announced that its next-generation registry in support of Verra’s standards programs and developed in collaboration with S&P Global Energy, will officially go live on Monday, July 27. S&P Global Energy is the leading independent provider of information, data, benchmark prices, and workflow solutions for the commodities, energy expansion and energy transition markets.

Verra said the new registry delivers the most significant user experience upgrade in its history. Built to scale a growing global carbon market, the platform combines a modern interface, integration with the Verra Project Hub, and powerful new technology that improves transparency, traceability, and efficiency across the carbon credit lifecycle.

The migration of Verra Registry onto the S&P Global Energy Environmental Registry infrastructure underpins the development of a more unified and transparent carbon market. Looking forward, S&P Global Energy and Verra seek to further enhance this infrastructure through increased connectivity, in support of increased trust and growth in carbon markets.

“When we announced our partnership with S&P Global Energy, our goal wasn’t simply to replace a registry platform. It was to create a better experience for every user who works with Verra’s systems. Whether you’re a project developer, trader, or auditor, the new registry offers reporting designed around real workflows, intuitive navigation, and deep connectivity across systems. For users, that means a clear seamless experience.”

Mandy Rambharos, CEO, Verra

In a future update, the new registry will also support transaction-ready application programming interfaces (APIs) and enhanced connectivity that enable automated transfers and retirements while supporting integration with exchanges, brokers, marketplaces, and other market infrastructure providers.

"By bringing this technology online, we are equipping market participants with the advanced workflows and new user interface of the S&P Global Energy Environmental Registry that simplifies the user experience. These workflows allow for a flexible and scalable system to meet the changing needs of the market as it grows.”

Leanne Todd, head of Horizons, S&P Global Energy

To support a smooth transition to the new registry, Verra and S&P Global Energy will provide comprehensive training, guidance, and dedicated stakeholder support in the weeks leading up to the July 27 launch. Registry account holders will receive regular communications about any actions required of them ahead of the go-live date and about how to navigate the new platform.

Verra has also launched a dedicated web page featuring FAQs, user guidance, and information about training webinars designed to familiarize users with the new platform and its enhanced functionality.
