This training session will provide stakeholders with an overview of the main program updates that were introduced in VCS Version 5 and are effective from January 1, 2027. It will also cover the changes introduced in the recently released VCS Version 5 project templates. This content will be relevant for all project proponents and validation/verification bodies that are preparing project requests that will be submitted to Verra after January 1, 2027.

A second training session (Session B) will cover the program updates released in VCS Version 5 that are related to ESG safeguards, stakeholder engagement, and the right to operate/right to reductions and removals. It will also cover the supplementary sections included in the v5.0B project templates, which is relevant for projects with a start date on or after January 1, 2027.
