Four additional methodologies approved for use in Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program are now available in digital form on the Verra Project Hub and can be accessed through the Digital Project Submission Tool. As part of Verra’s multiyear digitalization initiative, this release is a key component of enhancing the project registration process.

Verra encourages proponents to use the digital versions of methodologies as they become available. The digitalized methodologies facilitate the accurate generation of project documents and monitoring reports by using templates to collect all the project details required for a given methodology. It also enables validation/verification bodies to easily access records, create audit reports, and submit them for Verra’s review.

The Digital Project Submission Tool also supports a streamlined project registration process, making it easier for proponents to submit their projects. The tool includes automated calculations and built-in data checks, ensuring consistency with the selected methodology. Enhanced editing features, search capabilities, and the ability to export PDFs make document management more efficient, improving the overall user experience.

The newly digitalized methodologies are as follows:

With the addition of these methodologies, Verra now has 18 digitalized methodologies across its programs. Verra currently maintains a list of digitalized VCS methodologies and a new resource with a list of all digitalized methodologies across Verra’s programs is forthcoming.

Additional digitalized methodologies are currently undergoing User Acceptance Testing, including VM0033 Methodology for Tidal Wetland and Seagrass Restoration, v2.1 and VM0048 Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation, v1.0.

All digitalized versions of methodologies undergo extensive testing and piloting before being made available on the Verra Project Hub.
