Verra and the Nutrient Management Institute (NMI) will cohost a webinar to provide practical guidance on the use of biogeochemical models in projects applying VM0042 Improved Agricultural Land Management. It will draw on lessons learned from independent modeling experts (IMEs), including at the NMI, when assessing model validation reports per the requirements of the module VMD0053 Model Calibration, Validation, and Uncertainty Guidance for Biogeochemical Modeling for Agricultural Land Management Projects, v2.1.
Participants will receive step-by-step guidance on ecosystem identification, model selection (e.g. RothC, DayCent), data collection, model set‑up, validation, and preparation of results for reporting. Project proponents will also come away from the session with concrete tips to streamline monitoring, reporting, and verification.
