Verra has released Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Methodology VMR0010 Electricity Supply for Ships, v1.0. VMR0010 is a revision of the CDM methodology AMS-III.BP.: Emission reduction by shore-side electricity supply system, v1.0 (external).
AMS-III.BP. quantifies emission reductions from shore-side electricity supply to ships docked at berths, a process that displaces electricity produced from ships’ auxiliary power generators that use fossil fuels. This revision expands the scope of AMS-III.BP. to include off-shore electricity supply systems such as power buoys that provide electricity to ships waiting off-shore to dock.
Verra held a public consultation on this revision from February 13 through March 14, 2024.
