Verra is launching a public consultation on a proposed revision (PDF) (methodology development ID #M0186) to CDM methodology AMS-III.BP.: Emission reduction by shore-side electricity supply system, v1.0 (external). The updated version would be published as a methodology in the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program.
AMS-III.BP., v1.0 quantifies emission reductions from shore-side electricity supply to ships docked at berths, a process that displaces electricity produced from ships’ auxiliary power generators that use fossil fuels. The proposed revision expands the scope of AMS-III.BP., v1.0 to include off-shore electricity supply systems such as power buoys that provide electricity to ships waiting off-shore to dock.
