On Thursday, February 22, at 9:00 am ET, Verra hosted a webinar on the role of Plastic Credits within a full life-cycle approach to plastic stewardship.
Holistic plastic stewardship strategies must encompass both upstream and downstream measures. Plastic Credits, such as those issued by Verra’s Plastic Waste Reduction Program (Plastic Program), will play a complementary role in addressing plastic pollution downstream, and should therefore be a key element in helping companies achieve their plastic waste reduction commitments.
In this webinar, Verra’s Plastic Team introduced Plastic Credits, how they can be leveraged in a full life-cycle approach to plastic stewardship, and best practices for and benefits of using them within a plastic stewardship strategy. The team also discussed the robust requirements of Verra’s Plastic Program, which results in the issuance of high-quality Plastic Credits.
