On Monday, November 20, at 12:00 pm ET, Verra hosted a webinar about how to access and use its new digital non-permanence risk tool (NPRT) for Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (AFOLU) projects in the Verified Carbon Standard Program. Known as the AFOLU Non-Permanence Risk Assessment Calculator, this digital version of the AFOLU NPRT, v4.2 (PDF) enables project proponents to efficiently and accurately conduct the non-permanence risk analysis for AFOLU projects and estimate their required buffer pool contributions. The digital tool has recently become available on the Verra Project Hub.
Project proponents will be required to use the digital AFOLU Non-Permanence Risk Assessment Calculator for all project requests submitted on or after January 1, 2024. For informational purposes only, project proponents may consult the Excel calculation tool (XLXS) for the AFOLU NPRT, v4.2.
