Washington – Mar. 20, 2025 | Verra is pleased to announce the appointment of Marc Stuart as the new Chair of its Board of Directors. Stuart, a founding managing director of Allotrope Partners and co-founder of EcoSecurities, has been a member of Verra’s Board since the standards setter’s inception and brings deep expertise in environmental markets, project development, and investment strategy.
He succeeds Ken Markowitz, a distinguished climate law expert and partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, who provided strong leadership to Verra’s Board during a critical period of the organization’s growth and transformation.
“I’m honored to step into this role at such a pivotal moment for Verra and the broader voluntary carbon market,” said Stuart. “Having been involved with Verra from the beginning, I have seen firsthand the organization’s evolution and commitment to integrity, innovation, and impact. We are now at the end of a several-year leadership transition period, and I look forward to working with the Board and new leadership team to further strengthen Verra’s role in scaling the impact of environmental and social markets at a time when the world needs such leadership the most.”
Mandy Rambharos, CEO of Verra, expressed her gratitude for Markowitz’s leadership while welcoming Stuart into his new position.
