Verra has approved minor revisions to VM0003 Methodology for Improved Forest Management through Extension of Rotation Age and released the updated methodology. The revisions encourage broader usage of the methodology and update the methodology based on the most recent VCS Methodology Template, v4.2 (DOC). The revisions were open for public consultation from 3 February to 4 March 2023 and include the following:
- An extended timeframe during which a project can demonstrate that it meets Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification requirements;
- A corrected formula for quantifying wood products; and
- An updated uncertainty deduction equation that is consistent with the VCS Methodology Requirements, v4.3 (PDF).
Ecotrust (external site) developed the minor revisions per the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process, v4.2 (PDF) Projects that requested listing on the Verra Registry prior to the release of the revised methodology may complete validation under the previous version within six months.
