Today, VCS released the first guidance manual for validating and verifying VCS projects.

The Validation and Verification Manual provides greater clarity on several components of the VCS Program. Among the many topics, the guidance covers validating project descriptions, verifying emission reductions and removals, and conducting methodology assessments.

The manual is intended to support the validation/verification bodies (VVBs) that provide a key role in VCS quality assurance. Developers of VCS projects and methodologies may also benefit from the guidance on various validation and verification processes.

The Validation and Verification Manual was developed with input from VVB and accreditation body representatives who served on the VCS VVB Working Group. See all working group members

Release of the Validation and Verification Manual coincides with several updates to VCS program documents. See the 3Q12 updates catalogue for a complete list and description of all updates.
