The deadline for completing the survey has been extended to Friday, May 2.
Verra has launched a technical survey to gather information that will inform the order in which Verra develops allocated deforestation risk maps and project baseline activity data for specific jurisdictions. These data are required for projects using Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) methodology VM0048 Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation, v1.0 and the associated module VMD0055 Estimation of Emission Reductions from Avoiding Unplanned Deforestation, v1.1.
The survey is open until Friday, April 25.
The Allocated Deforestation Risk Maps: Timetable indicates the current status of the allocated deforestation risk maps for each jurisdiction for which Verra intends to develop these data. Results from the survey will inform the order in which Verra will develop data for those jurisdictions currently listed as “prioritization pending,” as well as the second round of data collection that will be needed soon for many jurisdictions. This timetable will be updated pending the survey results.
VM0048 and VMD0055 have both been approved by the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) as meeting the requirements of the Core Carbon Principles (CCPs) Assessment Framework. Projects registered with Verra’s VCS Program that use VM0048 and VMD0055 will receive CCP labels for credits they generate.
