Verra has launched a digital version of its Exemption Request Form on the Verra Project Hub. The form facilitates the submission of exemption requests per the Exemption Request Procedure (PDF) that Verra released in November 2024. It applies to projects across any of Verra’s programs that are requesting an exemption from a program rule, requirement, or procedure.
Effective July 1, 2025, project proponents, validation and verification bodies (VVBs), and authorized representatives are required to submit all exemption requests via the digital form. Verra will no longer accept completed forms submitted via email.
The user guide on how to navigate the digital form will be made available on the Verra Project Hub in the coming weeks.
About Exemptions
Verra may grant exemption requests under extraordinary circumstances, i.e., situations beyond reasonable control of the requesting entity or that cannot be mitigated, avoided, or resisted by applying reasonable diligence.
Acceptable types of exemption requests are related to deadlines, requirements for VVB site visits, VVB rotation, and change of VVBs.
