VM0010, v1.3 quantifies the GHG benefits generated from preventing logging of forests that would have been logged in the absence of carbon finance.
The proposed minor revision to VM0010, v1.3 includes:
- Modified applicability conditions to clarify the exclusion of planted forests from the scope of this methodology.
- All the modifications to equations of Section 8 that have been issued in the latest Correction and Clarification to VM0010, v1.3 (PDF) .
Summary of Development
Verra is leading the development of this minor revision. The methodology is currently at “Step 4: Public Stakeholder Consultation” of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process, v4.4 (PDF).
The consultation for this proposed revision is open from June, 10, 2024 to July 10, 2024. Stakeholders are encouraged to submit feedback using the M0288 Public Comments Template (xlsx) to methodologies@verra.org.
