Dear Colleague,

Welcome to Verra’s August Newsletter!

We are delighted to share with you a few key updates that help improve Verra’s operational excellence and strengthen the integrity of our standards programs.

  • We recently launched the first component of Verra’s digitalization initiative, the Project Tracker. The first functionality of the Verra Project Hub, the Project Tracker provides stakeholders who have projects listed on the Verra Registry with greater visibility into the status of those projects. More features of the Verra Project Hub will be forthcoming.
  • We welcomed three new members of Verra’s Board of Directors: Julie McLaughlin, Anshari Rahman, and Mandy Rambharos. They each bring decades of carbon market experience and will add critical perspectives and expertise as Verra continues to grow.
  • We will publish updates to the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program at the end of August. This will include updates that improve the VCS Program’s transparency, usability, and integrity by delivering on previously consulted updates and aligning the program with certain CORSIA and ICVCM requirements. Please look for an email announcement with more details once the updates have been released.

We also would like to draw your attention to a new page on the Verra website, Verra Views, which features thought leadership pieces from Verra staff. In the past month, we posted two new articles on this page: Canada’s Burning Forests Remind Us Why We Need Carbon Crediting and Four Reasons Why “Nationalization Risk” Is Not So Risky.
