Verra and FOREDOR will again offer a virtual course on carbon markets in the Latin American region. Specifically, the course will focus on developing forest carbon projects in Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program, which are widespread in Latin America, a region that is very well suited for this type of project. Other topics covered will include the general voluntary and compliance carbon markets, and the main characteristics of both.

The course speakers have extensive expertise in carbon markets and include consultants, members of the private sector, and academics, as well as representatives from the Chilean government and project developers from various countries.

The course will run from June 2 through July 21, 2025. Registration closes on May 23, 2025.

Course sessions will take place three times a week, and classes will be taught in Spanish. See the course webpage (external) for more details.

Verra is the nonprofit that manages the world’s leading carbon crediting program, and FOREDOR is a Chilean company dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management.

Verra and FOREDOR previously offered a similar course in 2023 and 2024. Each time, it was attended by 40–50 participants from over 10 countries.
