We are honored to announce that this year, once again, voters have chosen the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program as Environmental Finance’s “Best Voluntary Standard.” This is the 7th time the VCS Program, which is managed by Verra, has won this award in a survey that received more votes than in any other previous year.
We greatly appreciate the honor and the acknowledgement of leadership that comes along with this award and are grateful for the endorsement of all those who voted for VCS Program.
We are currently supporting more than 1,500 VCS projects that are working hard to mitigate the impacts of climate change. To date, these VCS projects have collectively reduced or removed more than 360 million tonnes of GHG emissions from the atmosphere, the equivalent of more than 77 million passenger cars taken off the road for a year. As corporations and people are looking to reduce their climate impact, these projects present practical ways to support them in their endeavors — and to battling climate change.
