To effectively advance impactful climate action by delivering on priority methodologies that are under development, Verra is implementing changes to the review process of new proposals for methodologies in the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program. Effective immediately, Verra will pause the review of new Methodology Idea Notes (MINs) until Q1 2025.
Exceptions may be made for proposed methodology revisions that would significantly strengthen the integrity of a VCS methodology.
Project proponents and methodology developers seeking to propose a new methodology or methodology revision are encouraged to review the list of methodologies under development to engage with ongoing development or revision processes as appropriate (for example, by incorporating a minor revision into a current methodology revision).
In such cases, stakeholders should email methodologies@verra.org and include the methodology development ID in the subject line.
