Verra Releases Digitalized Building Weatherization Methodology

Verra’s building weatherization methodology in the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program is now available in digital form on the Verra Project Hub. VM0008 Weatherization of Single Family and Multi-Family Buildings, v1.2 can be accessed through the Digital Project Submission Tool.

As part of Verra’s multiyear digitalization initiative, this release is a key component of enhancing the registration process for projects using VM0008. The digital process will streamline project validation and registration and credit issuance under VM0008 by enhancing the ability to quantify emission reductions from residential weatherization and energy efficiency improvements. Verra’s weatherization methodology helps facilitate carbon finance for activities that reduce energy consumption, improve building performance and resource efficiency, and deliver socio-environmental co-benefits to households and communities.

Verra encourages proponents to use the digital versions of methodologies as they become available. With the addition of VM0008, Verra now has 24 digitalized methodologies across its programs. Verra maintains a resource page that lists all digitalized methodologies.
