11. Fugitive emissions from industrial gases
This module establishes a positive list for additionality for project activities that recover, collect, and destroy CFC or HCFC refrigerant that would otherwise remain in the commercial refrigerant market or be stored in stockpiles.
VMD0048 v2.0 may only be used in conjunction with version 2.0 or later versions of VM0016 Destruction of Ozone-Depleting Substances and Hydrofluorocarbons.
Please note:
- VMD0048, v1.0 is active until December 31, 2026.
- Projects seeking registration or crediting period renewal using VM0016 v1.1 and VMD0048, v1.0 must submit a registration request or crediting period renewal request by December 31, 2026.
- Projects may continue to use the applied module version for the remainder of the project crediting period and update to the most recent version of VM0016 and VMD0048 at their next crediting period renewal.
