14. Agriculture, forestry, and other land use (AFOLU)
M0314
This tool supports the quantification of carbon storage in harvested wood products (HWP) across various AFOLU methodologies. This tool will provide criteria for relevant data sources, including species, conversion factors, wood products, product yields, uses, and end-of-life stages, ensuring consistency and accuracy in HWP carbon accounting. The purpose of this tool is to address the inconsistencies and outdated values currently used, promoting a more reliable and transparent approach to HWP carbon storage calculations. This tool is globally applicable and can be integrated into existing methodologies to enhance the credibility and integrity of carbon credits.
