AM0009 (external) applies to project activities that recover and utilize the associated gas and/or gas-lift gas from oil fields. The proposed revision expands the scope to include avoided methane emissions from blowdown events that occur during natural gas production. Blowdown events occur when natural gas pipelines undergo repair or maintenance.

- Independent Expert Reviewers – stakeholders interested in serving as an independent expert reviewer once the draft revision is ready (see Section 3.5: Independent Expert Review of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process (PDF))
- General interest – Stakeholders interested in developing projects that this revision might enable are encouraged to reach out and share their estimates and plans for future project development. This helps Verra to better understand the demand for this proposed revision.
Summary of Development
The methodology idea note was submitted by Clean Recompression (external). Verra has reviewed the MIN and determined that the proposal may proceed to a feasibility assessment (see “Step 1.7: Verra conducts a feasibility assessment” of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process (PDF))
