M0279
This methodology quantifies the GHG emission reductions and removals from activities that introduce sustainable adjustment of the density of grazing animals and the frequency of prescribed fires into uncultivated grassland landscapes. The proposed revision aims to expand the potential project activities to adjust intensity and/or frequency of biomass burning and introduces a dynamic baseline scenario. The revision also proposes to specify how biogeochemical models to estimate soil organic carbon stock changes are selected, calibrated, validated, and reassessed during the project lifetime. The methodology is globally applicable.
The consultation for this proposed revision (M0279) is open from December 11, 2025, to January 23, 2026. Verra is accepting feedback through its new digital public consultation platform, which is hosted on the Verra Project Hub. Comments may be submitted electronically via the online form by 11:59 pm Anywhere on Earth (UTC-12) on January 23, 2026.
