Methodology For Transport Emissions Reductions Through Behaviour Change

The proposed methodology applies to verifiable transportation activities that avoid GHG emissions from an established baseline. i.e. commuters who cut personal transportation emissions below their baseline. A variety of transportation options are considered for behavioral change, including zero emissions (bike, walk), public transit, and ridesharing. The proposed methodology is globally applicable.

The methodology idea note was rejected by Verra, as per Section 3.1.7 of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process, v4.4 (PDF). The decision was based on low climate change mitigation potential compared to other proposals, and unmitigable risks associated with additionality.
