The proposed methodology establishes criteria and procedures to quantify the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction from refrigerant management (recovery and reclamation) projects. The proposed methodology applies only to HFCs, and does not address CFCs or HCFCs.
Summary of Development
- The methodology was proposed by EcoEYE under an older version of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process (MDRP) (PDF).
- In March 2025, the development of this methodology was put on hold.
- In March 2026, Verra reassessed the priority of methodologies under development and decided to keep this proposal on hold.
- Verra will reassess whether to resume the development of this methodology in Q1 2027.
