Methodology For Increasing Methanotrophic Methane Oxidation of Anthropogenic Methane

The proposed methodology applies to project activities that mitigate methane in landfills through the use of fully enclosed biofilters and methanotrophic cover in soil landfill covers.

The methodology idea note was rejected by Verra, as per Section 3.1.7 of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process, v4.4 (PDF). The decision was based on the proposal’s overlap with existing methodologies, and complexity of implementation resulting in low climate change mitigation potential compared to other proposals.
