The digital project review report (PRR), accessed via the Verra Project Hub, enables validation/verification bodies (VVBs) to communicate any non-conformance with Verra program rules and requirements that Verra identifies during its review of a validation and/or verification report. Below, we are sharing answers to some frequently asked questions. Please note that this list is not intended to be exhaustive. For detailed guidance and full procedural requirements, refer to the Project Review Report User Guide for Validation/Verification Bodies, v1.0 (PDF).
General Questions
Comments left open in a PRR are visible to the review team, but Verra reviewers cannot be contacted through the PRR. If you have any questions about your PRR, please email secretariat@verra.org.
Once approved, PRRs will be publicly available on the Verra Registry.
Access and Permissions
There is no limit to the number of VVB staff who can access the Verra Project Hub and the PRR tool. The VVB’s account manager should submit access requests to hubsupport@verra.org with the name and email address of the person who needs access.
No, there is no fee at this time.
Yes, each auditor can have an individual account. Access will soon be managed on a per-project basis via the Notice of Validation/Verification Services (NOVS) form: team members listed as auditors in the NOVS form for a project will have access to the PRR. However, if a VVB prefers to have the account manager as the only recipient, please contact hubsupport@verra.org.
Multiple logins will be possible. This will be managed through the NOVS form once the feature becomes available.
Please note that the verification code email will come from Microsoft on behalf of Verra (not Verra directly). Also, please be sure to search your junk/spam folder in case it gets routed there. If you still do not see it, please check with your organization’s IT staff to verify that these emails are not getting blocked from delivery to your mailbox. If that doesn’t work, please contact hubsupport@verra.org.
From the Verra Project Hub menu bar, the PRR tool is accessible via the Tools icon > Project Review > Project Review Report. If you do not see these options, you do not have access yet. Ask your account manager to send an email to hubsupport@verra.org to have access granted.
No, all team members who have requested access through their account manager can view PRRs. Verra is currently working on integrating the NOVS form into the system to ensure that both team leaders and auditors have access to their specific projects in the future.
Yes, auditors can access the PRR tool once the account manager submits a request for access to hubsupport@verra.org.
Currently, the approval notification is sent to the account manager. Once the NOVS form functionality is implemented, individual auditors will receive approval emails.
Notifications are sent to the VVB’s account manager, the project proponent, and the authorized representative. We also have the ability to configure additional VVB contacts individually for PRRs. If an additional contact needs to be configured for a PRR, please reach out to hubsupport@verra.org with the project number and email address to have it configured.
Currently, both VVB account managers and auditors can view all PRRs issued to their organization. Auditors will only see PRRs for projects they are assigned to, once the link with the NOVS form is established.
Yes, reminder notifications are sent to both parties. The notification is sent to the VVB’s account manager and to the organization email of the project proponent listed in Verra’s Registry.
Yes, please email updates to auditing@verra.org.
This feature is under consideration. For now, please email updates to Verra at auditing@verra.org.
VVBs must inform Verra if they wish to disable an account for security purposes. Email hubsupport@verra.org with staff updates and changes.
General Functionality and Interface
Each time an action is required from you, the hand icon will appear on the record. Once you complete the action, the hand will disappear from your dashboard. It will reappear only when further action is needed. When you see the hand icon, you will be able to edit the PRR and provide your response. When the hand icon is not visible, you can only view the PRR.
A green message icon indicates that a comment has been resolved and there are no pending actions on the comment.
To prevent overwriting issues, we recommend that team members do not work on adding responses to the same finding in the PRR simultaneously. Each user should use the “Save as Draft” option one at a time to ensure changes are properly saved and not lost.
Yes, after a few seconds of typing in a response, it is automatically saved. It is, however, still good practice to utilize the “Save as Draft” button.
We recommend coordinating internally to avoid potential overwriting or duplication issues, as real-time visibility into others’ activity is not available.
Editing is only allowed by the VVB while the PRR is pending VVB action. Auditors can edit their responses in the Findings section. Once the PRR has been submitted to Verra, it can no longer be edited. Project proponents only have view access to the PRR and cannot edit at any time.
Project proponents can only view the PRR while it is in the “Pending – VVB” status. Once the VVB has submitted their response to Verra, the PRR will no longer show for the project proponent until Verra submits the PRR back to the VVB. If the PRR is pending a response from the VVB and the project proponent is still unable to view it, please contact hubsupport@verra.org.
This feature is currently not available in the PRR tool. However, it is under consideration for future development.
Document Uploads and File Management
No, there is no maximum number of documents that can be uploaded.
Yes, each file must be under 100 MB.
If a file exceeds 100 MB, you can paste a link to the shared file in the VVB Response section, ensuring the link settings allow anyone with the link to view it.
Yes, KML files no larger than 100 MB can be uploaded.
If a document was missed, please send it via email to secretariat@verra.org with the case ID, project ID, and project name.
Yes, always upload both the tracked change (red line) and clean versions.
Yes, the final approved PRR is available for download. This function is located under the Actions column on the PRR dashboard and via the PDF icon while viewing/editing a PRR as shown below.
Yes. You can use the PDF button to download the PRR, then open it in Word to edit and save it as a regular Word file. Additionally, the Download All Documents feature allows you to download all project-related documents, enabling offline work.
Users can upload Word documents (DOC, DOCX) as well as PDF, KML, JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, CSV, zip, and .xlsx file formats.
Review Process and Deadlines
Yes, an email notification is sent 15 days before the 90-day deadline. Additionally, the PRR tool provides visual cues: the status color changes from green to yellow to red as the 90-day deadline approaches, helping users track progress.
Verra is not notified when a PP answers a comment. PRRs are issued to the VVB. If the PP leaves a comment for the VVB, the email notification will be received by the VVB to review the response. When responding to the findings, it is the VVB’s responsibility to include all required information about the actions they and the PP have taken. However, Verra can access a log of all comments and responses to comments made by all users in the PRR. Resolved comments can be deleted and, if deleted, will not be visible to Verra.
Extensions to the 90-day response deadline are considered exemptions. To request an exemption, the VVB/PP must submit an exemption request via the Verra Project Hub. These requests are reviewed by Verra on a case-by-case basis. For detailed guidance on what qualifies for an exemption, please refer to our Exemption Request Procedure. Please see our announcement explaining that exemption requests submitted by email are no longer accepted.
No, formatting is not currently considered as an indicator in the VVB scorecard.
Yes, Verra will automatically receive a notification once the PRR is submitted.
No, you will receive a confirmation pop up box in the Verra Project Hub stating that the PRR has been submitted, and on the dashboard, the status of the PRR will be updated to “Pending – Verra.”
Traceability and Version Control
The tool maintains a version history of comments and document uploads across review rounds. Information on each round is also available, including the start and end dates, which are available under the Project Information tab of the PRR.
