Manuel Frávega is a partner at Beccar Varela, one of Argentina’s largest full-service law firms. In this role, he leads the Environmental Law and Climate Change practice, advising leading industries as well as energy, mining and infrastructure companies on complex environmental permitting, compliance, litigation, ESG strategy, and carbon market developments.

Manuel brings over a decade of experience as environmental and climate lawyer, advising companies, governments, and international organizations on regulatory, transactional, and strategic sustainability matters. He brings a distinctive cross-sector perspective shaped by senior roles in private practice, in-house legal teams, corporate environmental management, and the public sector.

Earlier in his career, Manuel served as in-house counsel at Techint Group, worked in the Province of Buenos Aires’ environmental administration, and held a regional environmental management role at Tenaris.

Manuel is actively engaged in international climate and sustainability governance. He currently serves as President of the Environmental Department of the Unión Industrial Argentina (UIA), where he leads international cooperation initiatives in environmental and climate matters (AL INVEST, GIZ), maintains public engagement with federal authorities, and coordinates environmental and climate agendas with industrial sector chambers across the country. Manuel is also President of the Environmental Law Commission of the Buenos Aires City Bar Association and an officer of the EHS Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA).
