Revision to VM0003: Methodology for Improved Forest Management Through Extension of Rotation Age, v1.3

The proposed revision to VM0003, v1.3 includes calculations to improve Soil Organic Carbon levels in boreal and temperate forests. The project activity involves persuading forest owners to switch from the standard Finnish forestry approach of successive low thinning followed by clearcutting and replanting/seed tree retention to a management regime of uneven-aged selective cutting here called Continuous Cover Forestry or CCF.

This development was rejected by Verra, as per Section 2.1.4 of the Methodology Development and Review Process (PDF). This decision was based on limited resources and Verra staff time given current priorities.
