CDM methodology ACM0019 applies to project activities that reduce N₂O emissions by introducing secondary or tertiary N₂O abatement technologies in nitric acid manufacturing plants. The proposed revision of ACM0019, v4.0, includes updates to enhance the accuracy of the crediting baseline.

Summary of Development

The methodology idea note was submitted by Carbon Climate Protection GmbH (external) and is currently on hold as per Section 3.1.7 of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process, v4.4 (PDF).
Verra will consider resuming the development of this methodology idea note once:

  • There is clear evidence of project development
  • Resources are available to support the methodology development process
  • The development process can be prioritized over other VCS methodology development work according to the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process, v4.4 (PDF).

Verra will reassess whether to resume the development of this revision upon receipt of evidence from project proponents demonstrating the need for this methodology to support project activities.
