Dirk Forrister

Dirk Forrister is President and CEO of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), a global nonprofit focused on advancing market-based climate solutions.

He previously served as Managing Director at Natsource, a senior official at the U.S. Department of Energy, and as Energy Program Manager at Environmental Defense Fund. During the Clinton Administration, he chaired the White House Climate Change Task Force. An early contributor to U.S. climate change policy, Dirk brings to the Verra Board decades of experience in energy policy, environmental markets, and international climate negotiations.

He holds a BA in Political Science and Communications from Lipscomb University and a JD from Rutgers School of Law in Camden.
