Under Development
This methodology quantifies the GHG emission reductions and removals from activities that introduce sustainable adjustment of the density of grazing animals and the frequency of prescribed fires into uncultivated grassland landscapes. The proposed revision aims to expand the potential project activities to adjust intensity and/or frequency of biomass burning and introduces a dynamic baseline scenario. The revision also proposes to specify how biogeochemical models to estimate soil organic carbon stock changes are selected, calibrated, validated, and reassessed during the project lifetime. The methodology is globally applicable.
Verra is accepting proposals for an independent expert review of this revision. For more information on the scope of work, deliverables, timelines, and requisite experience and qualifications, please see the Request for Proposal (PDF). Please submit proposals by December 31, 2025, to methodologies@verra.org, using the following documents:
- Proposal Response Template (docx) – (Annex 2 of the RFP)
- Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form (docx) – (Annex 3 of the RFP)
