This proposed module to VM0041 generates carbon credits for the reduction of enteric methane and N2O emissions produced by beef cattle in the finishing stage at the feedlot from the introduction of feed additives and feed efficiency practices. The project activities for this proposed module include performance tracking and cattle sorting Improvements, feeding strategies, feed technologies, and genetic improvements.
SUMMARY OF DEVELOPMENT
The module was submitted by Viresco Solutions Inc. (external) and Ajinomoto Co., Inc (external). On December 19, 2024, the development of this module was put on hold. Verra will consider resuming the development once the following criteria are met:
- Resources are available to support the methodology development process
- The development process can be prioritized over other VCS methodology development work according to the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process.
Verra will reassess whether to resume the development of this module in Q1 2026.
