To strengthen the VCS Program, Verra periodically updates the program’s rules and requirements to ensure that projects continue to deliver emission reductions and removals of the highest environmental integrity.
Yesterday, Verra launched a public consultation on proposed changes to the VCS Program to build out options for easy-to-use, dynamic methodologies, reflect the latest scientific research, and align certain requirements for agriculture, forestry and other land use (AFOLU) projects with the Jurisdictional and Nested REDD+ Framework.

The consultation is open through 22 September 2021. Comments may be submitted to secretariat@verra.org.
After the consultation, Verra will use your input to finalize the updates to the VCS Program documents for an anticipated release in early Q4 2021.
