Verra Publishes SD VISta, CCBS, and Plastic Programs Corrections and Clarifications

Verra has issued corrections and clarifications, as well as updated fee schedules, for the Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard (SD VISta) Program; the Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standards (CCBS) Program; and the Plastic Waste Reduction Program (Plastic Program). The corrections and clarifications incorporate procedures and requirements resulting from recent updates to the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program into these three programs, enhancing integrity and consistency across Verra’s programs.

For each program, Verra has published (1) a correction and clarification document and (2) an updated fee schedule.

The correction and clarification documents for the SD VISta, CCBS, and Plastic Programs include the following corrections:

• Project request denial criteria and procedures will follow sections 4.3.5-4.3.7, 4.3.8(2), 4.3.9, and 4.3.10 of the VCS Registration and Issuance Process, v4.4 (PDF). Criteria for denying project requests include, for instance, incomplete documentation or findings not being satisfactorily closed after three rounds of review.
• VVB sanctions requirements and procedures will follow sections 2.5.6 and 6 of the VCS Program Guide, v4.4 (PDF). The sanctions include suspension for VVBs that do not conform with program or accreditation requirements. They also introduce a reinstatement fee, consistent with the latest VCS Program fee schedule update, which is now reflected in the updated program fee schedules.
• VVBs are required to respond to Verra’s findings in the project review report within 60 days (formerly 60 business days).

In addition, the Plastic Program includes a corrected requirement for projects starting on or before December 31, 2021, to complete validation by June 30, 2024. The document also clarifies that Verra no longer accepts new listing requests for projects with a start date between January 1, 2016, and December 31, 2021.
