VM0042, v2.0 quantifies the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions and soil organic carbon (SOC) removals resulting from the adoption of improved agricultural land management (ALM) practices.
The proposed minor revision to VM0042 enables project proponents to differentiate between Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) based on whether they are GHG emission reductions or carbon dioxide removals.
This minor revision will also incorporate corrections and clarifications that were issued on 25 January 2024.
Summary of Development
Verra is leading the development of this minor revision and is currently at “Step 4: Public Stakeholder Consultation” of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process, v4.3 (PDF).
The consultation for this methodology revision is open from April 5, 2024, to May 6, 2024. Stakeholders are encouraged to submit feedback using the M0268 VM0042 Comment Template (xlsx) to methodologies@verra.org.
