Verra is pleased to welcome Ben Carrier as our new Legal Director! Ben joins the Legal, Policy, and Markets team, led by Robin Rix, Chief Legal, Policy, and Markets Officer.
In light of Verra’s rapid growth and the continued expansion and evolution of its standards programs and the environmental and social markets in which they operate, Ben will provide authoritative substantive support to a range of legal and regulatory questions. He will help guide important decision-making processes and policies on these matters and also provide legal advice related to our programs and the Verra Registry.
Ben has more than ten years of experience practicing law, including as a Senior Attorney for the California Air Resources Board (CARB); in this role, he counseled the State of California on its Cap-and-Trade Program, which is one of the largest greenhouse gas pricing programs in the world.
