M0313
CDM methodology AM0073 (external) is applicable to project activities where manure is collected from multiple livestock farms and subsequently treated in a single central treatment plant. Existing anaerobic manure treatment systems in multiple livestock farms are replaced with a central treatment plant with one or a combination of animal waste management systems (AWMS) that results in less GHG emissions.
The scope of the proposed minor revision includes:
- incorporation of existing AM0073 Corrections and Clarifications: E&C AM0073 (11Apr23) (PDF) and C&C AM0073 (15Jan24) (PDF).
- incorporation of minor updates from M0284 and M0290 that aim to make the methodology more applicable and easier to implement for projects involving small farms by addressing monitoring and logistical challenges.
- other minor improvement to language and readability.
Summary of Development
The proposed revision follows an alternative process, per Section 2.1.2 of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process, v4.4 (PDF). Verra is leading and authoring the revisions, with input from technical experts. On December 19, 2024, the development of this methodology was put on hold. Verra will consider resuming the development once the following criteria are met:
- The CDM meth panel completes the assessment to consolidate AM0073 with approved consolidated methodology ACM0010.
- Resources are available to support the methodology development process
- The development process can be prioritized over other VCS methodology development work according to the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process.
Verra will reassess whether to resume the development of this methodology in Q2 2025.
Stakeholders interested in collaborating during methodology development or developing projects that this methodology might enable are encouraged to contact methodologies@verra.org. Please include the Methodology Development ID# M0313 in the subject line.
