This tool provides guidance for the development, calibration, and validation of data-driven modeling methods to estimate SOC stocks in a spatially explicit manner, including model uncertainty estimations. The tool allows for using a wide range of remote sensing technologies, geospatial data, and statistical methods demonstrated through peer review to predict soil organic carbon content. The tool is intended to be used along with VM0042 Methodology for Improved Agricultural Land Management, VM0032 Methodology for Adoption of Sustainable Grassland through Adjustment of Fire and Grazing, and potentially other methodologies that quantify SOC stocks in agricultural lands.
Please note:
Verra plans to issue a corrections and clarifications document to outline the procedures for applying VT0014 under the current and upcoming versions of the referenced methodologies.
