Methodology for the Reduction of GHG Emissions in Building Material Production through the Use of Carbon-Negative Hempcrete as a Replacement for Carbon-Positive Building Materials 

 
The proposed new methodology aims to reduce GHG emissions in the manufacturing industry by substituting the production and use of conventional building materials with hemp-based construction materials. The methodology covers a broad range of applications, such as hempcrete and hemp wool insulation for non-load-bearing infill walls.

The methodology idea note was submitted by Green Carbon Foundation (open on external site). It was archived on 13 February 2024 since it overlaps with another proposal (M0187 Methodology for Carbon Sequestration Through Cultivating Hemp).
