This methodology quantifies the GHG emission reductions generated by washing jet engines.  All jet engines become contaminated through normal operation which leads to higher fuel consumption.  Jet engine washing eliminates contamination and improves the efficiency of the engine, resulting in decreased fuel use and a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.

This methodology is applicable to projects which utilize on-wing jet engine washing as a means to improve jet engine propulsive efficiency.
