The Electric Vehicle Charging Carbon Coalition (EVCCC), working with the Climate Neutral Business Network, has developed a newly approved methodology to account for the emission reductions achieved via the charging of electric vehicles (EVs) through EV charging systems and their displacement of conventional fossil fuel vehicles. Using the VCS Program’s framework for standardized methods, this new methodology uses a positive list to simplify the determination of additionality for projects located in 40 countries. The methodology also establishes default factors for the estimation of certain parameters for projects located in the United States and Canada as an alternative to project-specific calculations.
On Wednesday, October 17, 2-3 pm EDT, we will be holding a webinar to present this new methodology. Joining Verra staff will be Wayne Killen from Electrify America and Sue Hall from the Climate Neutral Business Network.
We’ll cover:
- An overview of the methodology
- Benefits and impacts on EV charging system financing
- Key considerations when developing projects applying VM0038
