WASHINGTON – March 19, 2024 | Verra, the world’s leading nonprofit standards setter for climate action and sustainable development, today announced that Joe Dell’Orfano has joined the organization as its first chief technology officer (CTO). In this role, Joe will work closely with Verra’s leadership team to spearhead the organization’s digital transformation and technology efforts as a catalyst for high-quality and sustainable growth.
Joe brings more than 20 years of senior technology leadership experience helping drive customer-centric technology strategies and solutions. Prior to joining the Verra team, Joe served in key roles at publicly traded organizations including Total Wine and More, REI, and Safeco Insurance. Most recently, Joe spearheaded the technology department at Cava, where he assembled a dynamic team, established core practices, and led the overhaul of its mobile app, website, and data infrastructure platforms. These efforts were instrumental in leading Cava to a successful initial public offering (IPO). Joe received an MBA from the University of Washington and a BA from California State University at Fullerton.
“As someone deeply passionate about climate action, I’m excited by the opportunity to collaborate with the team at Verra to drive technological advancements and foster innovation in support of Verified Carbon Standard Program processes and broader organizational objectives,” said Joe. “I am enthusiastic about leveraging technology to streamline processes, enhance transparency, and extract more robust insights, in contributing to the effectiveness of Verra’s initiatives.”
Joe will report directly to Judith and will oversee Verra’s new standalone technology department.
