Revision to AMS-III.C.: Emission reductions by electric and hybrid vehicles, v16.0

CDM methodology AMS-III.C. (external) quantifies GHG emission reductions from activities that introduce new electric and/or hybrid vehicles that displace the use of fossil fuel vehicles in passenger and freight transportation.

The proposed revision expands the scope of the methodology to include electric mobile machinery, such as building and construction machines, as eligible vehicles. The extension will only be for full electric mobile machinery. The proposed methodology is globally applicable.

The proposed revision is being developed by Grutter Consulting AG (external) and ZEROCA (external) and is currently at “Step 6: Final Verra Review” of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process (PDF). Verra hosted a public consultation from April 24, 2025 to May 26, 2025.
