VM0036, v1.0 currently outlines procedures to estimate the reduction of net greenhouse gas emissions resulting from project activities implemented to rewet drained peatlands in temperate climatic regions.
The proposed module to VM0036 aims to expand applicability to include conservation activities and provide guidance on quantifying avoided conversion of temperate and boreal peatlands.

The proposed module was submitted by Viresco Solutions Inc. (external) and Nature Conservancy of Canada (external). It is currently at “Step 2: Concept Note Development” of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process, v4.3 (PDF).
