The proposed new methodology framework enables net CO2 emission reductions and/or removals that result from the production of CO2-derived intermediate or end products. CO2-derived products are those in which CO2 is captured and stored for an extended period of time, including aggregates, cement admixtures, concrete, ceramics, etc. The proposed new methodology framework is globally applicable.
SUMMARY OF DEVELOPMENT
- The proposed methodology framework was originally submitted by South Pole Carbon Asset Management Ltd (external) and Perspectives Climate Group (external) under an older version of the the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process (PDF) (MDRP).
- On December 19, 2024, the development of this methodology was put on hold.
- In March 2026, the development of this methodology framework was archived per the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process (PDF).
