Methodology Framework for Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage

The proposed new methodology framework enables net CO2 emission reductions and/or removals that result from the production of CO2-derived intermediate or end products. CO2-derived products are those in which CO2 is captured and stored for an extended period of time, including aggregates, cement admixtures, concrete, ceramics, etc. The proposed new methodology framework is globally applicable.

The concept note was submitted by South Pole Carbon Asset Management Ltd (opens on external site) and Perspectives Climate Group (opens on external site) and is a part of the CCS+ Initiative. The concept note is currently at “Step 3: Draft Methodology Development” of the Methodology Development and Review Process, 4.3 (PDF).
