Methodology for Reducing Transportation Emissions in Cities

The proposed methodology applies to multiple measures implemented simultaneously in cities to reduce GHG emissions in the transportation sector. Project activities that reduce transport emissions, such as new or upgraded mass transit systems, use of low-carbon vehicles, transport demand management (TDM), measures to avoid or reduce the number of trips, cycle lanes etc., are captured and measured directly using satellite data, ground sensors, and big data. The proposed methodology is globally applicable.

The methodology idea note was submitted by Everimpact (opens on external site) and is currently at “Step 2: Methodology Concept Note Development” of the VCS Methodology Development and Review Process, 4.3 (PDF).
