The proposed methodology incentivizes improved practices and land-sparing in grassland-based beef cattle production. Eligible land areas are those undergoing agricultural land expansion and grassland degradation. The methodology proposes to credit reductions in the GHG emissions intensity of cattle production. A performance benchmark method is proposed for additionality assessment and for the crediting baseline. Eligible project activities must include at least one practice that increases grassland and cattle productivity and may also include other activities that increase cattle productivity.
